What are CHAKRAS? They are energy centres, but how do they work?
CHAKRAS are energy centres located along the spinal column.
The first one is located on the same level as the coccyx and is called the root chakra, that which connects us to the earth and anchors us in reality. The second one, called the sacral chakra, is located just below the navel. The third one, at the level of the stomach, is the solar plexus chakra. The heart chakra sits in the region of the body that carries its name, then comes the throat chakra. Then a little bit higher, the third eye chakra, just between the eyes, invites you to look inside yourself and to connect yourself to subtle energies. Lastly, the crown chakra at the top of the head connects us to the higher world.
These energy points represent the basis of traditional Indian medicine, also called “ayurvedic medicine”. The term chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit, a language used in India for over 5000 years for the transmission of sacred texts. Certain Sanskrit words like Buddha, Himalaya, or even Yoga have passed into our everyday language.
The chakras that form these energy centres which are invisible to the human eye in reality number close to 88,000 in our body, including the seven principal ones.
Each of these seven energy wheels receives and emits a vibrational energy which acts on our organs and our emotions.
The chakra’s colour corresponds to its vibrational frequency. The root chakra is red, the sacral chakra is orange, the solar plexus chakra is yellow, the heart one is green, and the throat one is turquoise. The third eye is indigo, and lastly the crown chakra is mauve.
The chakras located in the lower body are more linked to our instincts, while the higher up ones are more spiritual.
This energy which flows within us can be likened to a light that rises and wraps around the spinal column from the root chakra towards the crown chakra at the top of the head. This light-force climbs in a spiral and links the earthly and the divine. It is through feeling this energy flow within us, from bottom to top, that we feel our belonging to the universe.
This vital breath that passes through us thanks to breathing is called Prana in India and Chi (or Ki) in Chinese Feng Shui.
When this light-force flows smoothly and fluidly from one wheel to another, our chakras are in balance and we feel at peace.
Every kind of unhappiness such as stress, frustrations, or even unresolved past hurts disturb this energy that flows through us and leads to health troubles and emotional difficulties.
In order to overcome these unpleasant situations and find your balance, several paths are available such as practicing yoga, meditation, or a chakra alignment session with crystals as offered by PlusHarmony.
A crystal, possessing its own balanced vibration, allows the chakras to regulate themselves and to find their proper vibrational frequency. Once open, the chakras can again welcome this vital force and bring it back up from one energy point to another, always from the earth towards the heavens.
In a nutshell, “balanced chakras” means “good physical, mental, and emotional health”. What else?
